Communications Officer

World Vision International Nepal is hiring a Communications Officer to create and manage media content, maintain brand quality, and support campaigns for child wellbeing across the country.

World Vision International Nepal is hiring a Communications Officer to manage its digital media presence, create engaging content, and support communication strategies. The officer will be responsible for creating stories, handling photos and videos, and working with different teams to support the organization's mission to protect children and promote wellbeing across Nepal.

This role also involves traveling to different program areas and assisting during emergencies. Candidates should be passionate about storytelling and community outreach and be comfortable using communication tools and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and run digital media strategies
  • Handle social media and website updates
  • Gather stories, photos, and videos from the field
  • Produce internal newsletters and communication materials
  • Support advocacy campaigns and create awareness materials
  • Maintain a library of digital content and ensure proper usage
  • Train staff on writing, photography, and videography
  • Assist in emergency communications and manage updates during crises
  • Coordinate donor visits and field trip communication
  • Translate materials between English and Nepali

Eligibility to apply

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, or a similar field

Experience:

  • 1–2 years of work experience in communications, media, or the nonprofit sector
  • Practical experience in social media storytelling and video production
  • Experience with international or local NGOs is preferred

Skills Required:

  • Strong content creation and storytelling skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Nepali
  • Video editing and graphics design
  • Photography and videography
  • Communication planning and coordination
  • Experience using design and content tools
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Preferred Knowledge:

  • Child protection and safeguarding
  • Understanding of Nepal’s media and cultural context
  • Skills in emergency and crisis communication
  • Photography or videography certification or training
