RFP: Assessment of School Nutrition and Food Environment at Chandrapur Municipality

UNICEF invites proposals from eligible institutions to assess school nutrition and the legal food environment in Chandrapur Municipality, Rautahat District, Madhesh Province, Nepal.

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is seeking proposals from qualified national or international institutions to assess the school nutrition and food environment in Chandrapur Municipality, Rautahat District, located in Madhesh Province, Nepal. The assessment also includes a legal review of the food environment at the municipal level.

UNICEF is a global organization working to improve child and maternal health, education, and nutrition. This initiative supports its ongoing commitment to building healthier school environments across Nepal.

Scope of Work

The selected institution will evaluate the current nutrition status in schools and conduct a legal assessment of the food environment in the targeted municipality.

  • Conduct a field assessment on school nutrition and food availability
  • Analyze local laws and policies related to the food environment
  • Prepare a detailed final report with findings and recommendations
  • Submit all raw data, assessment tools, and reports to UNICEF

Key Responsibilities

The selected institution will handle the assessment, data analysis, legal review, and final report preparation.

  • Collect and analyze data in the field.
  • Interpret municipal-level legal documents.
  • Submit a full, well-documented report to UNICEF.

Qualifications and Experience

Eligible institutions must have a strong track record in public health, nutrition, education, or legal research relevant to Nepal’s context.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Academic or professional expertise in nutrition, health, education, or law.
  • Demonstrated experience with similar assessments and legal analysis.

Team Expertise

Proposals should include a qualified team with expertise in:

  • Nutrition or public health research.
  • Legal and policy analysis.

All proposals must follow the structure and criteria outlined in Annex B. New vendors should submit a completed Vendor Registration Form (Annex E), along with a canceled cheque and all required registration documents.
