The Annual Kathmandu Conference on Nepal and the Himalaya is a multidisciplinary event providing a vital scholarly platform in Kathmandu. It is hosted by Social Science Baha since 2012, in collaboration with the Association for Nepal and Himalayan Studies, Britain-Nepal Academic Council, Centre for South Asian and Himalayan Studies (CESAH), and Japanese Association for South Asian Studies (JASAS). This conference is a crucial forum for academic exchange and collaboration.

The conference brings together experts to explore diverse themes related to social, cultural, historical, and political life in Nepal and the broader Himalayan region, with a strong focus on the social sciences, humanities, and arts. Proposals for papers, panels, and poster presentations are welcome, all in English.

Registration is required to attend and includes access to all sessions and provided meals.

Early Bird Discount available until June 30, 2025. Full fees apply thereafter. Registration remains open even on conference days.
